Lighthouse Watercolor

This is a watercolor I did few years ago.
I painted this a few years ago after a photo I took at the Karlskrona lighthouse in the SE coast of Sweden. The shading on the lighthouse gave me a lot of trouble, as a beginner painter, and I'm not really sure I would do a lot better today, maybe be a little less fearful, but that comes with lots of practice!

Keep on creating! I'll be back soon...

Science star!

I've fallen behind here as I try desperately to catch up elsewhere! It's a constant battle, and I haven't been painting too much lately since time has gone to updating my web store, but I'm back with my brushes and hopefully a few poems too, just because those are lots of fun to write.

I'm pulling out an older painting from a few years ago that I made just for fun.
I showed it to a friend and they declined to delve into the psychology of the broken robot head. Probably for the best! ;)

I'll be back soon with more to look at. In the meantime, keep on creating. That's what I'll be doing!!

Second Waxwing Painting

I do really like these birds, so I've painted a second one last week.
I'm sure there are a few more paintings of waxwings in me, but for now I'm moving on to some other birds and other subjects too.

Waxwing Painting

Happy New Year!
Things have been slow through the holidays, which have been great, but now it's time to get back to work.  First painting of the new year is one of my favorite birds, the waxwing.

This year, my goal is to really work on developing my painting skills as much as I can, and that means pushing through those times when the self-doubt is crying at me. Not an easy, but we don't really get anywhere when we get caught in those places, so feel free to join me in working beyond the doubts.
